Diamond DA50 RG

Advanced, spacious and comfortable

The idea behind the development of the Diamond DA50 RG aircraft was to design and build an aircraft with a cabin similar in spaciousness to that of American passenger cars.

 

In the front - two pilot seats with ample legroom and overhead space. In the rear - as in a car - a bench seat with three seats for adult passengers. Comfortable and luxurious. All this enclosed in an airframe made entirely of lightweight and durable carbon fiber. The idea was realized with perfect precision. 

 

To reduce aerodynamic drag, the aircraft has retractable landing gear. This also visually emphasizes its sporty character and good performance.

Unique and modern features

The DA50 RG is an ideal choice for both private and dispatch flights. 

 

It is powered by a fuel-efficient, twin-turbocharged V6 diesel engine - Continental Aerospace CD300 with 300 hp. A two-channel FADEC system computer is responsible for the optimal selection of power unit parameters - the pilot has only the power lever at his disposal.

The fully integrated Garmin G1000NXi avionics system with the GFC 700 3-axis automated flight control system significantly contribute to pilot comfort and flight safety.

Spacious front seats with adjustable backrests, a 60/40 split-folding three-seat bench seat in the second row encourage seating and tempt comfort.

The luxurious interior is offered in several styles and colors. Interior lighting is done entirely with LED technology. Every passenger is provided with a fresh air supply.

Optionally, the aircraft can be equipped with an oxygen system. Each seat also has access to a USB port. The DA 50RG aircraft provides crew and passengers with better travel conditions than in airliners.

The front seats are occupied through a large lift-up door. Convenient access to the rear bench seat and to the spacious trunk is provided by a door on the port side of the hull.

Advanced aerodynamics

The streamlined shape, design of the wings, stabilizers and fuselage not only affect the performance of the aircraft, but also determine safety. All structural elements of the DA50 RG aircraft that protrude beyond the outline of the fuselage and wings are enclosed by fairings that reduce aerodynamic drag. The whole is complemented by retractable landing gear.

Economy and environment

The DA50 RG, like Diamond Aircraft's other diesel-powered models, has low CO2 and noise emissions. Low fuel consumption and periodic maintenance performed every 100h reduce operating costs to levels lower than gasoline-powered aircraft. You save fuel and money by burning up to 50% less for the same power.

Innovative flap design

The aircraft's wings are equipped with double-slotted flaps - the plane pulls away from the ground after a short run-up and at a lower speed. The innovative design of the flaps is important for safety reasons. In the event of an engine failure, the aircraft with fully extended flaps descends at low speed and is fully controllable.
