It is a biographical portrait of Jan Borowski - a visionary, entrepreneur and dreamer, for whom the sky was not only a symbol of freedom, but a true life calling.

Born in devastated post-war Warsaw and raised by a single mother, Mr. Jan Borowski grew up in a world that was not conducive to grand ambitions. Nonetheless, from an early age he felt an insatiable urge to push the boundaries. Although a visual defect derailed his dreams of a career as a pilot, he never gave up the dream of flying. Instead, he built an empire - first on the ground.

Borowski was the first Pole to establish official partnerships with global automotive giants such as Mercedes, Honda and KIA. During the political transition period, he became an icon of the new Polish business class - uncompromising, ambitious, charismatic. But even at the peak of his career, he was still looking to the sky, yearning for something more.

In the 1990s, when Polish aviation law was liberalized, he fulfilled his dream - he got his pilot's license. He decided to leave the lucrative automotive world behind and risk everything for aviation. His company - JB Aviation - today celebrates more than 30 years in business and is a leader in the distribution of aircraft and helicopters on the Polish market.

A successful man in flesh and blood

"Polish Aviator" is not only a story of spectacular decisions and achievements. It is also a candid and at times brutal look at a man full of contradictions. For some, an egocentric and loner, for those close to him - a loving, though often absent father. Borowski appears as a complex and ambiguous character, but always authentic.

This is a film about passion that knows no age. About dreams that do not fade despite the years. And about the fact that if the world does not give you wings - you can build them yourself.

The film had its special pre-premiere screening during Mr. Jan Borowski's 80th birthday party, which took place among relatives, friends and colleagues. The screening ended with a standing ovation - the best proof of how deeply moving this story is and how great an impact the documentary's protagonist had on the lives of many people.
