On Guard of Poland's Borders
JB Aviation has completed the delivery of two brand-new reconnaissance aircraft with a built-in Aerial Observation System, an automatic identification system for surface vessels of the AIS type, satellite communications telephone with broadband Internet access. The aircraft are certified for VFR (day, night) and IFR (day, night) operations, as well as flights in known icing conditions and reduced vertical separation minima (RVSM).
The crew will consist of; the pilot and co-pilot and at least three other members, including two on-board systems operators and an additional mission member. The maximum takeoff weight can range from 3,400 to 7,000 kg, with a payload of at least 590 kg.
The aircraft are adapted to carry out patrol tasks over maritime areas (in the boundary of Polish territorial waters and the exclusive economic zone), and have sets of electronic maps of the entire territory of the Polish state, as well as provinces and administrative areas (of provincial rank) adjacent to the land border with Poland and belonging to neighboring countries (Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania and Russia). The set of maps includes the Exclusive Economic Zones over the Baltic Sea areas, together with the coastal waters of the Kaliningrad region and Germany, as well as the Exclusive Economic Zones of Portugal (excluding the Azores), Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Malta and Senegal.
After several modifications, the transport-passenger airframe gained;
- 360-degree radars, enabling preliminary identification of objects on the surface of water, land and in the airspace,
- long-range optoelectronic aerial observation system enabling precise identification of objects from a distance of up to 15 km,
- satellite communications module, allowing real-time transmission of data in the form of short videos and images and providing voice communication,
- automatic identification system for surface vessels AIS, allowing recognition of registered boats and ships,
- crew rescue equipment necessary for flights at a great distance from the coastline, along with equipment for searching bodies of water in search of survivors.

Projects for clients such as the Border Guard are incredibly complex and difficult challenges that require technical expertise at the highest level.
